Perimeter Security That Detects Intruders Before They're Inside
Effective perimeter security detects an intrusion attempt at the fence line — the moment someone climbs, cuts, or forces it — rather than after they are already on site. IoT vibration sensors make that possible by turning any fence into a smart, alerting barrier.
The problem with traditional perimeter security
Most sites rely on cameras and patrols. Both detect a breach after it has happened: a camera captures footage of someone already inside, and a patrol arrives minutes after the fact. That delay is exactly the window an intruder needs. The perimeter itself — the fence — is usually passive.
Making the fence itself the sensor
The RAMAC Vibration Sensor (TMST1) mounts directly onto walls, palisades, welded mesh, or game fencing and detects the distinct vibrations of climbing, cutting, and forced entry. When it senses an attempt, it sends a real-time alert through the RAMAC App so security can respond while the intrusion is still in progress.
Because it is wireless and battery-powered — roughly four years on a replaceable battery, communicating over the low-power Sigfox network — there is no wiring to install along the fence line and no mains power needed. That makes it practical to protect long perimeters and remote boundaries that would be impossible to cable.
Layering detection for fewer false alarms and better coverage
Perimeters are rarely uniform. Combining the Vibration Sensor with the RAMAC Motion Detection Sensor (MD1) adds coverage for approach and movement within a protected zone, giving security a fuller picture and helping distinguish a genuine intrusion from environmental noise. Tamper and low-battery alerts plus a daily heartbeat mean you also know the system itself is healthy.
Built and certified for South African sites
The RAMAC range is designed, manufactured, and tested in South Africa for local conditions, and is ICASA approved and Sigfox certified. Quick installation via the RAMAC App means sites can be protected without specialist contractors or lengthy downtime.
What good perimeter detection looks like
- Detection at the fence line, in real time — not after entry
- No cabling or mains power required along the perimeter
- Multi-year battery life for low-maintenance operation
- Layered sensors for coverage and confidence
- Local certification and support
